In addition to holding and cuddling the infants, our teachers are always interacting with them to encourage their mental and physical development. Your child will learn to grasp toys, vocalize sounds, recognize pictures of familiar objects and acquire a variety of other skills.Teachers work with each child in a series of stimulating activities that incorporate the natural routines of feeding and play. The teacher reinforces the babies’ development without disrupting their daily schedule.
Toddlers have many opportunities to physically explore their world inside the classroom and on the playground. They also begin more structured activities, such as Learning Centers and Circle Time. Your toddler will begin learning concepts of color and size, and will build their vocabulary. Our staff understands the challenges that one-year-olds face in a social learning setting, and have experience in helping them adjust to the give and take of the classroom environment.
Beginners 2-3 Year Old Preschool Class
The Links to Learning Beginner program for ages 2 to early 3 year olds expands on the foundation established in the toddler program. We begin to introduce more routine and structure to children’s activities and daily schedule. Your child will build vocabulary, learn functional numerical skills, and will be encouraged to use simple reasoning to explain every day occurrences. Our daily activities continue to reinforce age-appropriate social development.
Intermediates, older 3 to 4 year-olds are more secure and ready for a higher level of challenge. Our Intermediates have a lot of
opportunity to explore Learning Centers and participate in dramatic play. Your child will learn to recognize letters and some letter sounds, add two groups of concrete objects by counting and begin to understand the concept of yesterday, today and tomorrow. This well-rounded program also includes our "Kids-ercise" exercise program. Skills learned during this period include recognizing letter names, catching a bounced ball and beginning to understand the concept of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Our Pre-K program teaches foundational literacy and math skills. Children learn letter-sound relationships, sight word recognition and basic mathematical functions. The Pre-K program also includes character education and physical fitness.
Our school also offers a Pre-K II program for those who have completed Pre-K or whose birth dates are after the traditional age cut-off for kindergarten. This program includes additional levels of academic rigor and enrichment opportunities.
